Our
Mission:
The mission of the Meade County School System is to
educate young people so that they may successfully function in a global setting and to
instill within them a desire for lifelong learning that fosters personal satisfaction and
promotes positive contributions to our society.
Our Objectives:
The objectives of the Meade County
Board of Education are as follows:
- To foster and maintain an environment conducive to effective
learning.
- To employ and retain the best qualified faculty and staff
members available.
- To produce well-adjusted, contributing members of society.
- To develop competencies in students which will qualify them for
post-secondary education and/or employment.
- To build upon and expand the interest of each student in academic,
vocational, recreational, artistic and aesthetic areas.
- To foster the development of acceptable ideals of conduct based upon
moral principles.
- To provide competency in the basic learning skills consistent with
each student's ability.
- To develop greater responsibility for intelligent self-direction and
self-discipline.

Monthly board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm
unless scheduling changes occur. Special called meetings will be posted at
the Board of Education office and reported to the local newspaper and radio
station.
