  Programs and Services Provided by the Youth Services Center:

 

Referrals to Health and Social Services:  Referrals to agencies, Health Fair, Second Harvest Food Program, and guest speakers for Health classes.

 

Career Exploration and Development:  Reality Store, Career Class Presentation, 8th Grade Power Pact Night, babysitting course, and 7th Grade “Take Your Child to Work” Day.

 

Family Crisis and Mental Health Counseling:  Character Education programs, Student Recognition programs, referrals to in-school counseling services,  and referrals to community resources.

 

Substance Abuse Education and Counseling: Health Educator visits to Health Class, Red Ribbon Week, Health/Safety Fair, and Teen Leadership Conference.

 

Educational Support: Transition programs, After-school craft classes, Parent programs, CATS Crew, Angel Tree program, Attendance issues, 7th Grade Portfolio Night, and basic supplies for those families who qualify.

 

Important Items:  

  • Incoming 7th graders are invited to attend the transition camp, “Put Your Best Foot Forward,” at SPMS, 12-4, on Wednesday, July 29.  Students must complete a permission slip to attend.  Reservations cannot be taken after June.  For more information contact Mrs. Canavera, Youth Services Center Coordinator,  at 422-7530.


        

*    June 4:  Last Day of School for Students

*     June 8:  Youth Services Center Advisory Board Meeting, 12 Noon

*    June 16:  Summer Craft Camp at SPMS, 11-2, Permission Slip required.  May be picked up at SPMS or public library.

*    July 29:  7th Grade Transition Camp, 12-4 at SPMS, must have permission slip to attend.
